Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its long-standing partnership with Indian Bank, to deploy TCS BaNCS for Treasury at its Colombo branch in Sri Lanka, marking the company’s entry in the country.

Following the successful deployment of TCS BaNCS for Treasury across Indian Bank’s operations in India and at GIFT City in Gujarat, the platform is now being extended to the bank’s Colombo branch, reinforcing a unified approach to treasury operations across geographies.

TCS will help Indian Bank modernise its overseas treasury operations across money markets, investment management, and foreign exchange. The transformation will enable Indian Bank’s Colombo branch to move to a single, integrated treasury platform that supports unified deal processing, real-time position visibility, stronger risk and limit controls, and compliance-ready reporting. The Bank will be able to reduce manual intervention, improve straight-through processing, and strengthen audit and regulatory readiness through a single source of truth.

“As our treasury operations in Sri Lanka evolve, we need a platform that can support growth with greater control, transparency and operational agility. TCS BaNCS for Treasury platform provides us with a modern foundation to address evolving banking requirements,” said S Viswanathan, CEO, Indian Bank, Sri Lanka Operations.

“Treasury transformation today is about more than automation—it is about enabling banks to operate with speed, insight, and confidence in dynamic market environments. With TCS BaNCS for Treasury, we are proud to support Indian Bank’s overseas business in Sri Lanka with a solution that brings together deep treasury functionality, operational resilience, and regulatory confidence,” said Venkateshwaran Srinivasan, Global Head, Financial Solutions, TCS.

With seamless deployment and continued maintenance, TCS will help the bank accelerate time-to-value while ensuring smooth integration with its existing systems and international market infrastructure.

For the bank’s Colombo branch, the platform will provide greater control over foreign exchange and market risk exposures, faster deal execution and settlement cycles, and improved regulatory reporting. It will also support strategic decision-making by giving treasury teams a consolidated view of positions, limits, liquidity, and exposures across instruments and currencies.
