Step-by-step JAIIB registration

  1. 1

    Check eligibility

JAIIB is open to ordinary members of IIBF — that means employees of member banks (PSBs, private banks, RRBs, SFBs, cooperative banks) and a few allied institutions. New joinees should ask HR to confirm IIBF membership has been initiated.

  2. 2

Become an IIBF member (if not already)

Apply for IIBF ordinary membership at iibf.org.in with a one-time fee. Membership is mandatory before you can register for JAIIB.

  3. 3

    Open the JAIIB registration portal

When the cycle opens (typically twice a year — May and November attempts), log in to the IIBF candidate portal and choose 'JAIIB'.

  4. 4

    Fill the application form

Enter personal details, bank/branch, membership number and exam centre preference. Double-check name and DOB — they will appear on the certificate.

  5. 5

    Upload photo and signature

Use a recent passport photo (20–50 KB JPEG) and a clear signature on white paper (10–20 KB JPEG). Wrong format is the #1 reason applications are rejected.

  6. 6

    Pay the exam fee

Pay online via card, net-banking or UPI. The standard JAIIB fee covers all four papers across attempts. Keep the receipt.

  7. 7

    Download admit card

Admit cards are released ~10 days before the exam. Print on A4, carry it with a government photo ID to the centre.

  8. 8

    Plan your study

JAIIB has four papers: IE&IFS, PPB, AFM and Retail Banking & Wealth Management. Allocate 4–6 weeks per paper and use Macmillan books + IIBF e-learning + mock tests.

FAQs — JAIIB registration & application

How do I register for JAIIB exam?

Become an IIBF ordinary member, then log in to the IIBF candidate portal during the registration window, complete the JAIIB application form, upload photo and signature, and pay the exam fee online. Admit card is released ~10 days before the exam.

How do I apply for JAIIB exam if I am a new banker?

Ask HR to confirm your IIBF membership (most banks initiate this for new joinees). Once membership is active, the same IIBF portal lets you register for JAIIB in the next cycle.

Is JAIIB membership and JAIIB exam registration the same thing?

No. IIBF ordinary membership is one-time and a prerequisite. JAIIB exam registration is done separately for each cycle until you clear all four papers.

How many attempts do I get?

Candidates get a block of attempts within the validity period defined by IIBF after the first registration; check the latest IIBF rulebook for the current limit.

What are the JAIIB papers?

Indian Economy & Financial System (IE&IFS), Principles & Practices of Banking (PPB), Accounting & Financial Management for Bankers (AFM), and Retail Banking & Wealth Management (RB&WM).
