IDFC First Bank on Saturday reported a close to three-fold jump in net profit to ₹1,045 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026.

The lender had earned a net profit of ₹352 crore in the year-ago period.

Total income rose to ₹14,218 crore in the quarter under review from ₹11,828 crore in the same period a year ago, IDFC First Bank said in a regulatory filing.

Interest income rose to ₹11,922 crore from ₹9,937 crore in the same quarter last year.

Asset quality of the bank improved with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) declining to 1.32 per cent of gross advances at the end of the September quarter 2026, as against 1.86 per cent a year ago.

Net NPAs or bad loans also moderated to 0.4 per cent, as against 0.52 per cent in the year-ago period.

The Capital Adequacy Ratio of the bank increased to 14.67 per cent, from 14.11 per cent at the end of September 2025.

During Q2 FY27, the bank mobilised ₹34,390 crore (approximately $3.6 billion) of FCNR(B) deposits despite having no branch, subsidiary or representative office outside India.

This demonstrates the bank's digital capabilities and the trust it enjoys among customers, it said.
