IndusInd Bank links corporate credit card to working capital accounts
IndusInd Bank has launched a new corporate credit card linked directly to business working capital accounts. This tool helps businesses spend against their sanctioned limits without needing a separate credit line.
IndusInd Bank has launched a new corporate credit card that is directly linked to a business's existing Overdraft (OD) or Cash Credit (CC) accounts. This means companies can now use their sanctioned working capital limits (money a bank allows a business to borrow for daily operations) to make payments directly. This is a big change because it removes the need for a separate credit card limit or a different billing cycle.
The new card is available to eligible business customers across India. It works for both online and offline payments by drawing money in real-time from the linked OD or CC accounts. The bank has partnered with four major networks for this product: RuPay, Mastercard, Visa, and the NPCI platform. The technical infrastructure for this card is powered by a firm called PropelGo Technologies.
For bank officers, this product is positioned as a powerful working capital management tool. It allows business clients to use their sanctioned limits for paying vendors, handling daily operational costs, and other business spends. All these transactions can be tracked through a single, centralized expense dashboard. This helps businesses monitor where their money is going without manual paperwork.
One of the best features of this card is control. Business owners can set and change daily transaction limits for their employees or departments. Because the money comes directly from the OD or CC account, it reduces the work needed for manual reconciliation (matching bank statements with internal records). This makes the accounting process much faster for the customer.
Executive Director Jagdeep Mallareddy stated that this card makes working capital limits more useful for everyday payments. It is specifically designed to improve efficiency for large businesses and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). By turning a traditional credit limit into a digital card, the bank is making it easier for small businesses to handle their cash flow.
IndusInd Bank is a major player in the Indian market with over 32 years of operation. As of June 2026, the bank serves about 42 million customers through a network of more than 3,100 branches. It holds high credit ratings of CRISIL AA+ and IND AA+ for its bond programs, showing it is a stable and trusted institution. It also acts as a clearing bank for the BSE and NSE stock exchanges.
For branch staff, this is a great product to pitch to current CC/OD account holders who struggle with vendor payments. Instead of using cheques or RTGS for every small expense, they can now use a card. This increases the usage of the sanctioned limits, which is good for the bank's interest income and fee-based earnings.
In the coming months, we should watch how other private and public sector banks react to this move. If this linked-card model becomes popular, it could become a standard feature for all CC and OD accounts in India. For now, IndusInd Bank has a first-mover advantage in offering this flexibility to Indian entrepreneurs.
