UpTik reports ₹12 crore in monthly lending, led by invoice finance

UpTik says its monthly lending has reached ₹12 crore. The alternative investment platform has disbursed ₹60 crore over 14 months.

The company reported a 35-fold increase in lending volume over one year. Its core offering is invoice discounting, which allows micro, small and medium enterprises to raise working capital against outstanding bills rather than wait for buyers to pay.

UpTik focuses on invoices issued to large companies with strong credit ratings. Vendors can receive funds within two to three days, while financing typically runs for 30–90 days. The platform uses escrow arrangements and legal agreements as safeguards, alongside its focus on the quality of the buyer.

According to the company, an AI-based credit engine checks invoice authenticity and assesses both the buyer and the MSME. Blockchain records track the discounting process to support transparency and audits. Its advisory board includes professionals with experience at ICICI Bank, Standard Chartered and Citibank.

Founder Vinod Varma linked the milestone to demand for quicker, technology-led credit. He emphasised responsible lending, careful underwriting and openness with investors rather than growth alone. UpTik plans to expand lending and offer investors more exposure to real-economy assets, though detailed expansion targets have not been stated.
