IndusInd Bank posted a standalone net profit of ₹1176 crore as the private bank halved its provisions in the quarter-ended September 30 2026, as against a loss of ₹445 crore in the year ago period. The bank however increased its net profit by 17.3 per cent sequentially.

The bank’s net interest income (NII) increased 3.6 per cent to ₹4569.5 crore in the reporting quarter as against ₹4409.4 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. Sequentially, the NII dipped 2.46 per cent from ₹4684.7 crore in the previous quarter.

The bank faired better in terms of other income which includes treasury incomes. The line item improved 36.3 per cent to ₹2,246.8 crore as against ₹1,648 crore in the year-ago period.

The bank’s advances grew 14.95 per cent to ₹3.63 lakh crore in the recently concluded quarter as against ₹3.16 lakh crore in the year-ago period. Deposits grew 7.2 per cent to ₹4.3 lakh crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal from ₹4 lakh crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal. “Under the RBI swap window, we mobilised $3.5 billion dollars of FCNRB deposits. This implies a market share of 2.5 per cent, well above our natural market share of about 1.5 per cent on overall deposits,” Rajiv Anand, MD and CEO of the bank told analysts. Bank lent about ₹16,564 crore in Q2FY27 to FCNR(B) related deposits.

The FCNR(B) inflows reduced net interest margin (NIM) by 9 basis points to 3.23 per cent in Q2FY27 form about 3.32 per cent in Q2FY26. The measure dipped 54 basis points from 3.57 per cent in the previous quarter.

A large part of the turn to profitability came on top of a 53.2 per cent dip in provisions to ₹1216 crore in the reporting quarter from ₹2622.38 crore in the year ago period. “This was due to lower net slippages in the quarter,” said Viral Damania, Chief Financial Officer of IndusInd in the analyst call.

The bank’s non-profitable assets as a share of gross advances reduced to 2.73 per cent, as against 3.6 per cent in the year-ago period. NNPA as a share of net advances was stable at 0.83 in Q2FY27 but improved 12 basis points from 0.95 per cent previous quarter.
